YIPPEE is a program of Burton D. Morgan Foundation built around a digital platform that connects educators with entrepreneurs and hands-on learning experiences that help students build the skills and mindsets they need to thrive in school, work, and life. These competencies are developed through repeated opportunities to explore, experiment, and apply learnings in real-world settings.
Launched in 2022, YIPPEE reflects Burton D. Morgan Foundation's more than 50-year commitment to strengthening free enterprise by investing in people and organizations that embody the entrepreneurial spirit. At its core, YIPPEE was created to address a simple but persistent challenge in education: teachers know their students best, yet they are often left out of decisions about which learning tools and experiences reach their classrooms.
YIPPEE changes that.
Instead of prescribing what classrooms should use, YIPPEE centers the expertise of educators. The platform is built on a simple belief: when teachers have access to high-quality, experiential learning opportunities and the autonomy to choose what fits their students, learning becomes more meaningful and impactful. Every offering is thoughtfully curated to ensure it is classroom-ready, engaging, and aligned with the development of entrepreneurial skills.
At its best, YIPPEE creates a bridge between classrooms and the broader economy, opening the door for students to explore ideas, test solutions, collaborate, adapt, and build the confidence and initiative to act on what they learn.
Operational backbone
Burton D. Morgan Foundation serves as the operational backbone of YIPPEE, supporting the personnel, technology, platform management, communications, and infrastructure needed to sustain and grow the platform. The Foundation also supports regional implementation in Northeast Ohio, while expansion into other communities is made possible through strategic partnerships across the United States.
